What Do Teachers Make?

If my family was to ask me what I would get out of being a teacher, my answer would be similar to the poem by Taylor Mali (click here to read the poem). I can remember from an early age wanting to work at a school because I enjoyed all of my teachers, and I loved being in the classroom. My mom was an art teacher at my elementary school, and I loved helping her after school. I want to be a teacher, so I can make other children's early school experience as amazing as mine was.

Welcome to The Baum Dot Com!

The Baum Dot Com is a blog dedicated to my journey as I take my first step in becoming a teacher. I am a junior at Birdville High School, and I'm currently enrolled in the Instructional Practices in Education and Training at the Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning (BCTAL).

My inspiration to be a teacher comes from my mom, an art teacher, who I've followed as she went through the process of becoming an elementary art teacher. Helping her in the classroom, both during class and behind the scene, made me realize my love for teaching children.
